English Sage

Salvia officinalis, known as Common Sage or English Sage, is a very popular culinary herb that has a distinct earthy flavour and powerful, herbal aroma. Its strongly scented leaves and blue summer flowers grow on upright stems.

Sage brings forward low earthy tones and a subtle touch of sweetness, and is a fantastic addition to rich, flavourful cuisine like sausages, cured meats or stuffing for heavy holiday dishes. You can use the leaves picked fresh off the plant, or dried / frozen for later use.

Throughout history, Sage has been revered for not just its versatile use in cooking, but also for its attractive appearance and medicinal uses.
