Euonymus 'Emerald Gold'

Euonymus Fortunei are compact and variegated evergreen shrubs popularly grown for their attractive foliage. Their glossy leaves provide year-round interest in any garden. Emerald Gold is a beautiful variety that is short in height but comes with very bright golden-green leaves. It forms a low bushy hedge suitable for hedging and screening purposes. These leaves are glossy ovate and broad in size, dark green in colour that is margined with golden-yellow. In winters, they will develop hints of pink-red colours adding warmers colours to the garden.

Euonymus Emerald n Gold will thrive in any soil that is moist in the dry season and drained regularly. It prefers full sunlight where it can display its colours with all its glory and shine. It will do well even in partially shady areas in the garden. Once the roots are developed, the shrub will turn drought tolerant.

Emerald n Gold is a low maintenance shrub that is easy to grow and is not so invasive like its other cousins. It is highly tolerant of clipping, thus can be pruned in spring or autumn to encourage more bushy growth.

Use it as excellent ground cover especially for sunny slopes. Emerald n Gold is perfect in foundation plantings, in mixed borders or as edging along the sidewalk.
